Samsung released Android 10-based One UI 2.1 for various Exynos 7870-powered devices earlier this year in April. However, the update did not include the One UI 2.1 specific software features that were introduced with the company’s flagship Galaxy S20 series.

This led the guys at XDA to release a generic Android 10 ROM for Exynos 7870 powered devices called H-ROM with the new One UI 2.1 features that were missing from these phones, making them all able to enjoy the same features of the Samsung’s top of the line just by installing this system image.

With the launch of the Galaxy Note 20 series earlier this month, Samsung launched One UI 2.5 with more new features that we have already reviewed, such as the possibility of using the mobile on the computer via Samsung DeX wirelessly, a mode Enhanced professional video recording, the ability to change the duration of single capture mode, and new cosmetic items such as wallpapers and themes.

Logically, this software is programmed to reach many of the older flagships of the company. However, Galaxy devices with the Exynos 7870 chipset have been shelved once again. Fortunately, the same XDA team has updated its One UI 2.5-based H-ROM port for these devices .

The latest version of H-ROM is compatible with seven Samsung Galaxy devices with Exynos 7870 technology, that is, the Galaxy A3 (2017) and different variants of the Galaxy J5, Galaxy J6 and Galaxy J7, J7 (2017) and J7 Prime.

To install the ROM on mobile phones, the first thing is, of course, to have TWRP Recovery and download the installation file from this link: H-ROM for Galaxy with Exynos 7870 processor .

Once in the Recovery, we go to the “Wipe” menu and select “Format Data” to format the internal memory of the device and “Advanced Wipe”, selecting: System, Data and Cache. Then select “Install” and select the microSD to find the file that we are going to flash, select “Creater Vendor” and press to the right. This file prepares the device so they can flash the Rom.

Then, from the main menu, click on “Reboot”, then “Recovery” and when we are done we return to the “Wipe” menu, “Advanced Wilpe”; and we clean the device again, selected: System, Data and Cache.

Finally we return to the “Install” menu, and look in the microSD for the downloaded file of the One Ui 2.5 ROM .

Wait for your mobile to relapse and voila. From our site we do not take care of any failure during the process since the installation of a ROM of these characteristics requires a series of advanced knowledge in Android.
