Microsoft has taken advantage of 2020 to change some of the elements of Windows 10, such as the Start menu or the search engine. And 2021 is going to be a year also full of changes in this regard. And really big changes that can mark a before and after. However, there are many users who think that this OS has an archaic and obsolete appearance , an appearance that does not correspond, at all, with a modern operating system. And this makes some users and designers imagine new modern versions of the operating system, versions that, of course, we would like to see come true.
Obviously, all the concepts that we are going to see next are unofficial ideas . Microsoft has had nothing to do with them, but they are the fruit of the imagination of different designers. These operating systems are not downloadable, and we will most likely not see their features in future Windows updates. And much less updated versions of Windows 7 or XP adapted to the year 2020.

2020, among many other things, has been the year that has definitively turned its back on Windows 7. Microsoft’s popular and beloved operating system is no longer supported, and may put users at risk. It is true that things have changed a lot since this system saw the light of day for the first time, and aesthetically there are changes between Windows 10 and 7. However, one of the best concepts we have seen this year has been a reimagined version of this operating system if it were released today: Windows 7 2020 Edition .

But not everything is anchoring in the past. You always have to look to the future, especially when it comes to software and technology in general. Of course, you have to think about Windows 10, but the problem is that Microsoft is not very good at designing. So what if Apple is the one in charge of designing the operating system? The truth is that the result is amazing. Unfortunately, it will never come true.
Windows 10 is now 5 years old, which makes us think that the company should already be working on its successor (although it still has a long life ahead of it). What would this successor look like? This concept imagines a supposed Windows 20 , a much more modern and improved operating system, which simplifies many of the functions and configurations of the operating system. It even has a new file explorer at last!

If 20 left you wanting more, here is its successor: Windows 21 . This new concept renews many more aspects of the operating system, although it still maintains its essence. Win21 brings us an improved and more organized start menu, a new action center and different themes, light and dark, to choose the one that best suits our needs.
As it could not be less, this concept also presents us with a new modernized file explorer that, coincidentally, is quite similar to the leaks that have been seen in Microsoft’s new explorer.
