Unfortunately this year the emergence of the coronavirus has led many manufacturers, including Apple, to have trouble bringing the development of their new phones to fruition. If we add to this that in 2020 we will see the first iPhone compatible with 5G networks, it seems quite evident that the brand will not arrive in time.
Yes last week, Apple confirmed that its launch event will be delayed due to the current global health crisis and travel restrictions. Now the idea arises that Apple will launch “what you have” in September, leaving the rest of the releases for later.
Different models, different releases
This year Apple is expected to unveil four iPhones with OLED screens in 5.4, 6.1 and 6.7-inch sizes. It’s unclear if all of the models in the next line will be available later than usual, or if some models will come out first followed by additional models, but a new DigiTimes report citing supply chain source suggests Apple may adopt a phased launch approach.
The SLP motherboard supplier for two of these four iPhones has already begun shipping to shape these mobiles while the latter will begin in late August. In this way Apple can launch its 5G iPhones in two stages, with the two 6.1-inch models ( iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Max ) being the first two to see the light, leaving for later the smallest model (the iPhone 12 5.4-inch) and the bigger one (the 6.7-inch i Phone 12 Pro Max ) for later.
Since the development of some would be close to reaching its end, the brand would have chosen to maintain a launch schedule in September , even if it is half gas. In this way, it would have time to receive all the necessary components to give life to the rest of the iPhone 12 family models and present them, even if later, before the end of the year.
