It does not escape anyone that most of us spend too many hours in front of our mobile screen. Whether for work, leisure, or a combination of both, our eyesight can suffer when we receive screen light for a long time . Luckily, some manufacturers such as Samsung have weighed on it and integrate solutions such as the so-called “Blue Light Filter”
The various studies carried out agree that Spaniards spend an average of almost four hours a day looking at the mobile screen. As with the PC screen, for which we have always taken precautions, we can also protect our eyes thanks to some tools integrated into Samsung mobiles. The function is available in all the Galaxy that make up the OneUI layer, although it is a function inherited from more back, which was already available in the defunct Samsung Experience.
What does this filter consist of?
The blue light filter is a function of the screen that, when activated, allows to reduce eye fatigue, limiting the amount of light emitted. In other words, it can help to relax the eyes at night and therefore, sleep better while using the mobile before closing our eyes until the next day. In addition and as we will see later, it is a function that can be activated automatically so as not to be pending.
How active
In order to activate this function we will have to slide up or down on the applications screen and enter the “Settings” menu. Then we will have to enter “Screen” and once inside, tap on “Blue light filter”. Now it is as simple as pressing the switch to activate or deactivate the function manually.
From that moment we will notice how the amount of blue light emitted by the screen is reduced, which will make the screen appear more yellowish . From the bar that indicates “Opacity” we can make the yellowish tone more or less intensive.
Automatic programming
However, one of the most useful functions of the blue light filter is to be able to program it to activate automatically. To do this, we select “From dusk to dawn” to be active in this strip. We can also be more precise and touch on the custom schedule to select the start and end time. Once done we touch to confirm.
