A new and mysterious Xiaomi mobile has been leaked

Redmi‘s entry-level phone portfolio is expected to be refreshed later this year with the launch of a new affordable model that has started to get our attention after being listed by two certification agencies, teasing some of its features. features.

We are used to finding ‘A’ models in Xiaomi‘s low range, but always accompanying a specific model. That is to say, we already know the Redmi 9A, the 8A, the 7A… but we had never seen a terminal where the letter appeared in front, unless we go back to the very famous Xiaomi Mi A. This new terminal appears in the IMEI and FCC databases with the model number 22-733SFG and is identified as Redmi A1+.

How will this mobile be?

Although it has appeared in these corners of the web, the reality is that at this point we still do not have much information about the smartphone. In fact, the commercial name is the only confirmed information in the listings, beyond knowing that it works with the Android 12 operating system, but without additional details such as its customization layer or, what we are inclined to think, that it is a version from Android One .

And it is that, if for something we remember the phones that put the letter ‘A’ before the model number, it is because they work with this operating system dedicated to cheap mobiles. The Mi A1, Mi A2, Mi A3 and their different versions worked with this software and the nomenclature of the new Redmi phone leads us to think in this direction.

Redmi Note 11S

From the little that has been revealed about the smartphone, it is known that it is a model equipped with a fingerprint reader, something that is not usually very common in Xiaomi’s cheaper phones. But apart from the inclusion of a biometric sensor, this Redmi A1+ is expected to be practically identical to the Redmi A1 that was leaked a few days ago with the following specifications:

  • MediaTek Helio A22 quad-core processor running at a speed of 2 GHz
  • 3GB RAM
  • 64 GB of internal memory
  • HD+LCD display
  • android 12
  • LTE, 2.4GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0
  • 5,000mAh battery
  • Dimensions of 164.67mm x 76.56mm

On paper, we think that the only difference between the two models of the Chinese brand would be in the mentioned fingerprint sensor and, perhaps, in some other storage option, but the battery, cameras, screen and processor would be the same in the two cheap phones.

Of course, it is worth noting that the appearance and approval of a phone in these international agencies does not guarantee that the device will be released by the manufacturer, so the Redmi A1+ may not even reach stores. However, it is quite possible that soon we will find more leaks as the date of the possible announcement approaches. It will be then when we can confirm its full characteristics and the design of the mobile, as well as its operating system.
