YouTube has been the portal par excellence to play all kinds of video content via streaming for years. We have several ways to access all of this, either from the internet browser, platform applications or even other third-party programs.
With everything and with it, one of the most common uses we make of this streaming platform if we focus on the desktop computer, is from the aforementioned web version. All you have to do is access the official website of the video portal to find a huge universe of multimedia content with these characteristics.
In its player we find a series of usual controls in this type of multimedia element, and additional ones for handling the videos here. But we must also take into consideration that in order to improve the experience on this streaming portal, we have some controls and tricks that we can use on YouTube and that you may not know.
Change playback speed
As a general rule, we play YouTube videos at their original speed. But it is interesting to know that we have the possibility to modify this in a simple way from the player. We just have to click on the gear-shaped button on the player interface and modify that speed . We can choose from 0.25 to 2X. This will allow us to advance the display of the content or to see it in more detail more slowly.
Advance frame by frame on YouTube
And speaking of playback speed, it is worth mentioning that we also have the possibility of watching videos frame by frame . Again, this will allow us to capture the content that we are seeing at that moment in minimal detail. This is something that we can easily do with the keyboard shortcuts “,” to move back one frame and “.” to advance it.
Search with your voice
At the top of the main interface of the YouTube portal we find a search box that allows us to locate all kinds of content. Here we only have to write the corresponding terms that interest us. But it is important to know that we can carry out these searches by voice by simply clicking on the microphone-shaped icon located next to the aforementioned search box.
View content in cinema mode
If we want to better visualize the landscape content that we find today on the platform, we have the possibility of using the so-called cinema mode . By default, the player shows us the normal display mode, we can always use the T key to activate that cinema mode that we mentioned.
Save videos to watch later
In the event that we are browsing this platform and we come across certain videos that we want to see later in time, we can store them. To do this, we only have to click on the Save button that is located below the title of the content and here we already find the option to See later.
Create private and public playlists
When it comes to accumulating videos that we find on YouTube, it is important to know that we can also create playlists. Once we have a specific content open, we click on the Save button again and here we find the possibility of creating a playlist to add this content to. We can also use other already created lists, and when defining them we establish whether they are private or public.
Use filters in searches
The amount of content that is uploaded daily to this streaming portal is enormous. Hence, sometimes finding what we really need or are looking for is complicated. That is why YouTube offers us a series of filters to limit our searches based on different themes. These are found in the Explore section of the left panel.
Delete recommended videos and channels
If we are registered in the video portal, it offers us a series of recommended contents based on our history every time we access here. Many of them are repeated throughout the different sessions that we open here. It is worth mentioning that we can eliminate both individual content and complete channels that do not interest us. Simply click on the button represented by three vertical dots that we find next to the entry of the initial YouTube panel to click on I’m not interested or Do not recommend this channel.
