With more than 400 million users around the world, between paid subscribers and users of the free version, Spotify is undoubtedly the most widely used and popular music streaming platform in the world, a platform that is Available in all ecosystems that incorporate a screen, that can be connected to one as well as smart speakers.
Having been on the market for so many years, it has had more than enough time to add features that, inexplicably, are natively disabled , features that will allow us to enjoy this platform much more pleasant to our ears, in all the senses. Next, we show you 3 of the functions that we should activate now in the Spotify application for Windows to get the most out of this platform.
All these functions are available through the Spotify configuration options, a section that we can access by clicking on the image of our avatar and then clicking on Settings .
Audio quality
By default, Spotify sets the audio quality through the app to Automatic in order to avoid most of the bandwidth being consumed by the app. Although it is true that it is appreciated that this function is available, it currently does not make sense with current fiber connections, so we can change the Automatic option to Very High to enjoy the lowest possible compression.
We must not confuse this functionality with the lossless format , a quality that, at the moment, is only available in Apple Music, Prime Music and Tidal.
Crossfade
Another interesting feature that we have available on Spotify that is natively disabled is Crossfade. Crossfade is a function that merges the beginning and end of the songs that we play so that they overlap and thus eliminate the silences between songs. In this way, we can enjoy our favorite music without it seeming that we are listening to songs downloaded in MP3 format and, incidentally, eliminate unnecessary silences that are really useless.
When activating the Crossfade, the default value is 5 seconds, that is to say that when there are 5 seconds left to end a song, the next song starts playing, merging with the one that is ending. The minimum value that we can set is 0 and the maximum is 12. 5 seconds is the ideal compromise to take advantage of this functionality.
Equalizer
Within the Windows configuration options, there is also an equalization function with which we can establish how we want the music to sound based on the type of music, if we want to reinforce the bass, if we use small speakers, if we want to enhance or increase the treble or enhance the voice among many other options.
We can also configure the equalizer manually without using any of the default settings, we just have to move the wave up or down depending on its value to obtain a greater or less gain. In addition, it also includes the Restart button to restore the values manually or eliminate the setting that we have established.
