10 things you should know about Lowi, O2, Digi, Simyo and Pepephone

When we are clear that we are going to change mobile operator, either because we are going to change the fiber at home or the rate we have for our smartphone or even want to register a new line, the truth is that it is better to know what the current panorama of telephone companies in order to know which one best suits our needs. And, in this case, we find 10 important points that you have to know before contracting Lowi, O2, Simyo, Digi or Pepephone .

Permanence

One of the first aspects that we cannot ignore is permanence . And even more so if we are not very clear if we are really going to like that particular operator in a few days, weeks or months. For this reason, if you are not very fond of ties, you better take a look at the permanence of these companies. Here we leave you how long you will have to be in each operator:

  • O2: there is no permanence.
  • Lowi: if you contract Mobile or Fiber + Mobile you will not have. On the other hand, if you contract only Fiber you will have to wait 3 months.
  • Digi: You only have a 3-month commitment for fiber rates.
  • Pepephone: does not have any type of commitment.
  • Simyo: for mobile there isn’t, but if you contract fiber you will have to wait more than 90 days so that they don’t charge you for the installation.

Do you have CG-NAT?

CG-NAT is used by several telephone companies. For this reason, it is important to know which Internet operators in Spain make use of this technology or, at least, to know if we have the ability to deactivate this connection. In any case, these are the operators that do have this technology: Pepephone, Digi, Lowi and Simyo . Therefore, the only company that does not use this technology of the five that we have talked about today is O2. And it is that, like Movistar, they are the only two operators that are completely free of CG-NAT or CGN.

Do they offer you 5G?

5G coverage is increasingly important for many users, and it is increasingly present in Spain, so many Spanish provinces have a signal from this mobile connection. However, not all current operators offer this network. In this sense, Pepephone, Digi, Lowi or Simyo do not have 5G.

However, there is an exception here, again O2. Although, it is a curious case, since it is not official from the company. On the other hand, many users of this operator have confirmed this information, since being in a 5G coverage area and having a mobile compatible with this network, they have been able to enjoy this connection.

Landline with unlimited calls

Everything will depend on what we are looking for, but if you are one of those who still uses the landline to call acquaintances, friends or relatives, this aspect will be very relevant. Therefore, you will have to review this aspect. And not only this, but some companies offer unlimited calling rates from landlines to mobiles. In addition, you should check if the price fits what you were looking for.

Fiber speed

The five operators that we have come to talk about today offer different fiber offers, with different speeds. However, it is important to consider the price factor. In this way, we will be able to save good money every month. However, Digi has the fiber with the highest speed, with up to 10 Gbps , with its Pro-Digi rate. Although, it is not available in all the provinces of Spain.

Mobile rates with unlimited data and minutes

In this sense, we must pay attention to the number of unlimited data offered by the different operators. In any case, you have to know that none of these 5 companies offer infinite data. Here we will leave you the most relevant details so that you can discover which company is best for you:

  • Pepephone: without unlimited data, although they can be accumulated.
  • O2: with 20 or 100 GB of mobile data.
  • Simyo: with 12, 20 or 100 GB of data.
  • Digi: cumulative mobile gigabytes (10, 20, 50 or 100 GB).
  • Lowi: rates with 12, 25, 50 or 100 GB.

And unlimited calls?

After knowing that none of the previous operators offer unlimited data in their mobile rates, another important aspect is to know if they have unlimited minutes from the mobile. And, in this sense, we are in luck. More than anything, because the five companies that we have come to talk about offer unlimited calls in their mobile rates.

Prices of additional mobile lines

As for contracting additional lines, the truth is that we can find different operators that offer us good rates to have more than one mobile line. Therefore, we will only have to know the additional price that we will have to pay. In any case, you have to know that Lowi, Digi, Pepephone, Simyo and O2 offer additional mobile lines . Although, the cheapest option is Lowi for 2.95 euros per month, but on the condition that you contract fiber + mobile.

The Billing

Each operator establishes a billing cycle so, if we contract any of the rates of these operators, the truth is that it is convenient for us to know what the billing cycle of this operator is. On the other hand, it is also relevant to know the exact day of collection of the invoice. In this way, we will know when the day will be when the money will be taken from the bank account.

Television service

If you want to carry out a portability or contract a new fiber tariff with television service, it must be clear that not all telephone companies have this possibility. And not only this, if you were looking for a rate that includes a streaming platform, you should also pay attention. For example, Digi, O2, Simyo or Lowi do not have a television service or platforms . On the contrary, Pepephone has rates that include Netflix, as we can see in the following image:
