Drones are those little aircraft that can be used for many different things. In fact, many businesses and companies use them to do different jobs to save both time and money. There are drones of many types. Its implementation in the armies of different countries is already a reality, since they are very dynamic to do different jobs of tracking, reconnaissance or even use them as a weapon. The latter will be used to autonomously locate enemies using infrared sensors.
An Avenger drone was able to locate and track different enemies on its own for the first time thanks to an infrared sensor. In addition, the drone was driven autonomously, without any pilot.
A very complete and effective weapon
For an aircraft to be able to follow a target from the air is a fairly common task, only for this the systems that aircraft usually use are radars, which is a very effective location mechanism.
However, radars are not always available , as ships are sometimes used for stealth purposes, or enemies use anti-radar technologies. It may even be that the area where the aircraft is located suffers from radio interference.
To put an end to all these inconveniences, this new drone has been developed. It has dimensions of two and a half meters long and 41 centimeters wide. This aircraft replaces the radar with an IRST21 sensor that has an advanced integrated data processing system to track and track enemies by detecting infrared radiation.
The drone uses conventional technological systems so it was not necessary to create an infrastructure from scratch and an Avenger drone was used for it.
The tests were a success
The entire installation process on the Avenger took less than 90 days to complete. Also, the entire installation process didn’t cost a lot of money.
Several tests have been done to verify its operation and the Avenger used the capsule to detect targets that were moving very quickly through the area . Once this tracking was done, tracking data was sent to the drone system so that it would do whatever was convenient to destroy enemies.
Therefore, this new autonomous drone system that can locate enemies is very useful for the future. They could be used to do different sets of operations on the battlefield.
The use of autonomous and radar-free technology, and also so effectively, provides a weapon that makes it one step ahead of many others in use today.
