What is the least saturated WiFi channel
A key factor of the WiFi connection is that, today, if we live in a community of neighbors, it is normal for us to coexist with dozens of wireless networks, connections that share space with our router. For this reason, it is more than likely that they will share a channel, which leads to lower connection speeds , unstable signals, disconnections or lower coverage.
Also, keep in mind that Wi-Fi connections use a limited frequency spectrum to transmit their signal. And it is that the routers use 13 channels for any connection. In turn, these wireless networks can have two band frequencies: 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz. Not counting the 6 GHz band.
That is why, with this trick, we will be able to know at any time if the channel that we are going to use is saturated or not. And, in this way, we will be able to avoid problems with the home WiFi network . So we will do a test to see which channels are busy in the area and once we know which channel is the most free, change the Movistar router configuration. For this, there are several applications that will help us precisely to discover this:
- On Android devices : Wifi Analyzer .
- On iOS devices : NetSpot – Wi-Fi Analyzer .
- On Windows computers : WifiInfoView .
From these programs, we will be able to see which is the network that is better optimized and, even, we will be able to see a signal meter with which we will be able to measure the intensity of the WiFi signal that we have selected. In this way, we can know which is the best option.
Change the settings from the mobile or TV
When we have identified with any of the previous applications which is the least saturated channel, we will know which is the best option to which we will have to change the configuration of our Movistar router. In the event that we have a Smart WiFi router, we can do it through its app known as App Smart WiFi :
Once we have it installed on our Android or iOS device, we will only have to know that series of steps that will allow us to change the WiFi channel of the network. To carry it out, you will have to log in and go to the My Network section. Next, tap on the Optimize your WiFi tab and, finally, click on the Optimize button . If in your case after the process the channel has not been changed, it will be because we were already in the optimal channel.
Also, if in your case you are a Fusion client and you have the UHD Decoder or the UHD Smart WiFi Decoder at home, you are in luck, because you can also optimize your router from the TV. You will have to go to Movistar +, access its top menu and touch on Apps. Inside, we will have to select the Smart WiFi app and touch on optimize your WiFi .
