Galaxy Ms that Upgrade to One UI 2.5 Will Enjoy Secure Folder

Secure Folder is a Samsung tool that uses one of the brand’s great technologies, Samsung Knox to create a private and encrypted space on the company’s phones. This feature of the manufacturer’s high-end smartphones is now beginning to be installed by default in cheaper mobiles via system update.

The first of the smartphones of the Galaxy M family that has the luxury of enjoying these advantages is the Galaxy M31s, a phone that has not yet been put on sale in our country but has just received the latest firmware update from the brand , One UI 2.5, which arrives with the November 2020 security patch.

This software version weighs around 750 MB and adds to the mobile an improved keyboard with support for landscape mode, new SOS options for messages and several improvements in the camera. However, the most striking thing is to be able to enjoy the privacy functions present in the high-end mobile phones that are one notch below in the firm’s catalog.

Two new tools for the Galaxy M

The changelog also specifies a couple of key additions that allow users to enjoy a full One UI experience.

  • Secure folder: Until now, there has been talk that Galaxy M devices will never receive this feature through a firmware update because this series of inexpensive phones lacks the necessary security hardware. Its objective is to keep apps, data and files safe, storing them in a separate isolated space on the device and adding an additional level of security and privacy; in this way, they are given greater protection against malicious attacks.
  • Alt Z Life: Function present in some smartphones of the Samsung Galaxy A family and whose objective is to provide content suggestions to the user driven by artificial intelligence on the device, as well as Quick Switch, which is a function that allows users to launch applications in private or public mode.

This update has begun to reach some European models but as the mobile is not sold in Spain, to check if these functions with Secure folder actually reach the rest of Samsung’s mid-range mobiles, we must wait for a greater deployment of One UI 2.5 in the manufacturer’s Galaxy M. Interestingly, the Galaxy M31 did not arrive.
